Riverside Church at Night
This morning I didn't think that I'd be posting an image of Riverside Church at night. I had some really good shots of little birds at the shuttle bus stop this morning. But I didn't realize what aperture setting I had the camera at and it was a bit too shallow for the image I wanted. That will teach me how much I need to learn about my new camera. So I shot some images of Riverside Church on my way home tonight and figured they would be a good continuation of yesterday's morning shot.
West Harlem at night
This wasn't the shot I was planning to take for today's entry. But the opportunity for dinner with a friend prevented me from venturing on to the Columbia campus. I'll have to save that for another night. After dinner, I wandered a bit around the neighborhood and this shot was the one that caught my eye. It had a bit of competition from a shot of the 125th St subway escalator, but that one will have to wait for another opportunity. Looking at it full screen, I think I would have preferred to shoot it at a narrower focal length and higher ISO. Oh well, lessons learned are part of this exercise.
